ORCHESTRA WORKSHOPS

Brush up on your musical skills.

Orchestra Workshop at Cibola High School is for beginning string students in grade four and above or for those wishing to brush up on their skills. The class is designed for students to progress at their individual speed and is divided into different levels in order for the students to be their most successful. The first level is for the beginner student. Students learn how to play and care for their instrument, as well as to read music. Level 2 and Level 3 continue to progress in further instruction and playing challenges. Orchestra Workshop students eventually graduate into String Ambassadors, Civic Light Orchestra, and/or Civic Orchestra.

Workshop classes at Cibola High School are provided by Arizona Western College Continuing Education and supported by the Yuma Orchestra Association on Thursday evenings in the band room at Cibola High School (Room 704.) Orchestra Workshop classes in the Foothills take place on Thursday afternoons in the AWC music building. Anyone in 4th grade or older is welcome to attend. The beginning class meets from 3:45-4:50 and the intermediate class meets from 5:00-6:20. Advanced students may participate in the String Ensemble class which meets from 6:50-9:20. Classes follow the AWC calendar and registration for the classes are through AWC.
